Mural Map from Golden Goat

TAMBAY is located on the inside of the restaurant.
“Tambay” is a Filipino word for hanging out with your crew, passing the time, and making memories in good company. ChiChai’s mural turns that spirit into a living story: one that evolves as The Sarap Shop continues its journey from food truck to community home. Each new layer of the mural is another tale of joy, resilience, and possibility—an invitation to chase bold dreams, savor the hang, and remember that you’ll never have to do it alone.

This mural is dedicated to Bay Area Pinays, sisterhood and how Pinays have contributed to San Francisco historically and today.
The mural features 7 Pinay Ancestors whose impact as activists, artists and academics continues to reverberate the bay and beyond. These ancestors include: Pacita Abad, Helen Toribio, Gwen Angelica Agustin-Nodora, Victoria Manalo Draves, Violeta “Bullet” Marasigan, Dawn Mabalon, and Joyce Manalo. -
PAGSASAMA-SAMA (Tagalog for” joining together”) celebrates SOMA Pilipinas’ legacy of community members coming together. We interweave like the solihiya rattan pattern, creating bursts of sun and breathing life into the neighborhood.

// Brave and No Shame

Dedicated to women -- especially my fellow pinays -- that's continuing on their journeys of unlearning that there is no shame in
standing up for ourselves
what we want
what we feel
and know is right.
