MismatchWork Jacket

A jacket I whipped up for the fun of it

and, more importantly, for my spouse's birthday

I always wanted to make a custom piece for Christopher. We were signed up for the Brooklyn Half Marathon for his birthday weekend -- making this his first trip to New York City! Making sure my dude is adorned in a statement piece while walkin the streets of NYC was the right motivation for me to finally sew him something.

I picked up yards of this mystery puff-printed anime fabric from @scrapsf earlier this year, not knowing what to make. However, once I began sketching out ideas for this jacket, I knew this fabric was the one .

Collaged in the jacket is leftover orange denim from the pants I made in REROOT and a chunky neon green zipper I got from Seoul.

I told him that he better not expect a jacket every birthday-- this is work, y'all! You know what he said? "That's okay because you could also make pants or shorts or..."

Hay nako.
